The Sweco Design Center Poland operates as an internal design center within the Sweco Group. It specializes in providing expert services in planning, engineering, architecture, and design across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, urban planning, construction, energy, manufacturing, and IT systems. The Design Center currently collaborates with three countries: Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

Our requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Railway Engineering or related field;
  • Professional experience in Railway/Lightrail/Tramway planning and alignment design. We are open to all experience levels, ranging from 2 years to over 10 years of relevant expertise;
  • Strong 2D and 3D design skills using Bentley Microstation/Promise/Open Rail/Civil 3D software;
  • Ability to adapt to other surrounding things like roads, existing buildings/facilities, ducting, how the existing ground/geology looks like, piping, etc.;
  • Collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills;
  • Very good communication skills in English (written and spoken);
  • Good to have: experience in design ducting, extension of cable trays and cable pipes.

Responsibilities:
  • Working on railway design assignments such as alignment design, template design, yards, L Sections, cross-sections;
  • Overseeing rail engineering design and modelling (vertical and horizontal track geometry, 3D-moddelling, drawings, quantity calculations, typical cross sections);
  • Maintain technical analysis and feasibility studies for proposed railway projects. Evaluate factors such as terrain, environmental impact, and safety regulations to determine the viability of project plans;
  • Working with other engineers and designers to decide on solutions to systems issues;
  • Create the content of the maps that show and clarify what areas are needed to be able to build the new railway – not only the railway itself.

What type of projects you work with:
  • Railway yard reconstructions, catenary replacements, both new railway and repair and expansion of existing. The main customer is the Swedish Transport Administration, but we also work for industrial customers.
